The Norfolk Broads and Suffolk Broads combine the very best in leisurely and relaxed holidays, with an enviable combination of gently flowing rivers, beautiful countryside, pretty rural villages and large open and safe broads. Here at Martham Boats, we offer a wide range of traditional wooden motor cruisers to hire, most of which were built here at our boat yard in Martham during the 1940's and 1950's. All of our cruisers are handcrafted in wood and have been constructed to blend in with the romantic views of both the Norfolk Broads and Suffolk Broads and their wildlife.

Designed for comfort they have ample accommodation for you and your family and have everything you need for that special holiday on the Norfolk Broads. You can choose from our largest Cruisers, which have 9 berths to our smallest 3 berths. All our cruisers have colour televisions, bed linen, crockery, cooker, fridge, heating and hot and cold running water supplied as standard and are included in the package.

All of our boats are supplied with lifejackets to fit you and your party. Cots and indoor parking are also available on request.

Here at Martham Boats we offer a wide range of Sailing Yachts, most of which were built here at our boat yard in Martham during the 1940's and 1950's. All of our Sailing Yachts are handcrafted in wood and have been constructed to blend in with the romantic views of both the Norfolk Broads and Suffolk Broads and their wildlife.

All Martham Boats Sailing Yachts have everything you need for that special sailing holidays on the Norfolk Broads. You can choose from our largest yachts, which have 4 berths to our smallest yachts which have 2 berths. With comfortable accommodation for you and your family, they are designed to give you the excellent sailing performance you would expect. Sleeping bags and crockery are provided.

Martham Boats have a wide range of half decked sailing boats and motor launches, which are available for hire for those of you who wish to spend a quiet day exploring our beautiful and safe rivers and pretty rural villages here on the Norfolk / Suffolk Broads. All of our day boat hires are available to hire for the day, night or even for a week and moorings are available here at Martham if you wish to stay overnight.

Based on the River Thurne, our cosy bungalows are situated on the rivers edge where you have panoramic views of the Norfok / Suffolk Broads and its wildlife. Each of our bungalows are situation on a private plot with river frontage and mooring for either your own boat (we have a slipway) or one of ours.

The Norfolk / Suffolk Broads is world famous for fishing. From monster pike to perch and roach, many catch records have been set here. Our bungalows are partifularly appealing to those that wish to fish from their own private area whilst having all the comforts of home just a few yards away.

Why not try Canoeing / Kayaking & Camping in the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads

Canoeing / Kayaking on the rivers of the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads is a wonderfully fun and safe experience for both intermediate and novice canoeists alike. There is ample opportunity to explore the marvels of the River Thurne which leads you to both Horsey and Hickling Broad.

Whether you are a family, group of friends, an individual or even a corporate event, we can cater for your every need. All our canoes are designed to carry 4 and on arrival you will be issued with life jackets and given a briefing on both safety and paddling techniques. Our canoes / kayaks can be hired from anything from 1/2 day to a week or more.

Whilst exploring some of our smallest waterways, you will be able to view at close hand all of the wonderful wildlife that Norfolk and Suffolk has to offer. Over recent years, many rare species of both birds and butterflies have been seen around our wonderful tranquil Broads.

Places to visit....

Potter Heigham is where you will find Lathams discount store, a Post Office, various cafes and food shops, an information bureau, The Broads Haven Public House and the Falgate Public House.

Up stream is West Somerton where you may wish to find refreshments at the local Lion Public House.

Kendal Dyke takes you to either Hickling or Horsey. Both have very agreeable characteristics. For example, Horsey has a windmill which is run by the National Trust that you are able to look around. There is also a small Cafe, a shop and The Nelson Head Public House which are a small walk from the river.

Hicklling is a large and scattered village with its wide open spaces, fields and farms.
It consists of a 14th century church which won the 'Best kept church yard award 1983'.
Hickling provides a public house right on the broad which is the Pleasure Boat Inn. In the Centre of the village is the Greyhound.

All of our half deckers are gunter rigged and are available to hire for the day, night or even for a week and moorings are available here at Martham if you wish to stay overnight.
