Little Grebe



Little Grebe was built in the 1960's by Martham Boat Building, she was previously part of our fleet but was known as Jocelyn. In 2006/2007 she had a extensive refurbishment and is now a very well maintained craft. At the moment she is kept in under cover storage (as she has been every winter) to be prepared for the summer season. Little Grebe is a 4 birth traditional mahogany centre cockpit cruiser. Tumble Home


 

Tumblehome is a beautiful 24’ mahogany on oak river cruiser. She was originally built in 1952 by Royalls of Wroxham. In 2005 she started a complete restoration at Martham Boat building company. The restoration took 3 years and included; complete re-planking above the water line, 80% re-planking below the water line, new roof, new front windows, new screens and canopy and complete re upholstering. She also has a new Nani 3.21 diesel engine with hot water system, new 12V ISO fridge and a new electric flush toilet and waste system. This refit was completed in 2008 and she has had 2 seasons on the water.

Tumblehome is a beautiful old boat with modern creature comforts and reliability. She has 4 berths in 2 doubles and makes an extremely comfortable boat for 2 people and a fun weekender for 4.

 

 

 

There is a complete photographic record of the restoration along with receipts for all the work, new equipment and fittings. The engine has been fully serviced from new and only has 300 hours on. Tumblehome has an up to date BSS certificate.

Half Deckers

 
Martham Boat Building & Development Co currently have 2 half decker sailing boats for sale which were originally built by Ernest Woods. These boats have been in our hire fleet for approximately 50 years and will require work to return them back to class. Woodwhite No 38 and Orange Tip No 20 are gunter rigged. These are Yare and Bure one designs.

Windrush is a 20' carvel planked half decked sailing boat with bow sprit, gunter rigged and a dropped keel.

Clipper 1

Clipper 1, the first of the famous clipper fleet of yachts, was built by Chumley & Hawke of Horning in 1934. In about 1961 Chumley & Hawke went out of the yacht hire business and most of their fleet including five Clippers were acquired by Martham Boats, where they were fitted with a Stuart Turner Engine. Clipper 1 was acquired by the present owner in 1998 and much work has been carried out since to bring her up to private boat standards. New hog, keel and keel bolts, new bulkheads and expoxied decks with lino covering, planks and ribs replaced as necessary. Repainted and antifouled for 2009 with a new Boat Safety Certificate. Offers in the region of £12,000.
