Jocelyn IV – Traditional 4 Berth Motor Cruiser
One tank of fuel included.
Jocelyn IV is a 28ft traditional wooden motor cruiser, built by our own boatyard in the 1950s from mahogany on oak frames. She sleeps 4, making her ideal for families or two couples, and comes with a flush toilet, shower, warm air heating and one tank of fuel included. She sets off from our family-run yard on the Upper Thurne, with Hickling Broad and Horsey Mere on your doorstep.

The Martham Boat Building and Development Company has been letting its own traditional wooden Broads cruisers since 1946. Jocelyn IV is our mid-size class: roomy and comfortable for four, but still easy to moor. Her raised centre steering position gives great views over the river and reed beds, and makes her easy to handle, even for first-timers. Every crew gets a full briefing and handover before setting off.

Yes, subject to water levels. Our staff take her through the bridge for you when conditions allow, and can help plan your route.
Where can I go without passing Potter Heigham Bridge?
From our yard on the Upper Thurne you can reach Hickling Broad, Horsey Mere and West Somerton without going through the bridge.
Is fuel included?
One tank of fuel is included. Any extra fuel needed during your holiday is at your own cost.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, subject to our conditions of hire, and a pet charge applies.
